Get Involved

Thank you, everyone, for submitting your objections during the public comment period which ended September 1, 2021. You will have an opportunity to participate and provide testimony at the Mined Land Reclamation Board hearing later this year.

You can still enter objections (or additional comments) to the DRMS. Your input will be seen and counted, but you will not be invited to the public hearing. The total number of objections (whether submitted by September 1st or afterward) is IMPORTANT!

Please keep sending your objections to the state Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS)

There is only one way the DRMS accepts objections: through their website!

Follow the steps below:

  1. Start by selecting sample text for your objection we've drafted and paste the text you want to use into a word processor of your choice. Click the link for sample text HERE.  

  2. Modify that verbiage as you choose in your word processor.  However, the DRMS will not act on emotional, noise, traffic, hours of operation, visual impacts, effects on property values, and other social or economic concerns.

  3. Save the results somewhere for your records

  4. Click on this link to see the COMMENT form for DRMS:  https://dnrlaserfiche.state.co.us/Forms/DRMS_Comment

  5. Click on the correct: Contact Type

  6. Enter (type) data into the personal information fields (Persons Represented, First Name, Last Name, etc.)   

  7. Enter Mining permit No =   M2021046

  8. Copy and Paste your comments from your word processor into the "Comment / Objection Narrative" box

  9. Enter Permitting action type = Leave Blank

  10. Permit  type = Hard Rock

  11. Enter County = Fremont

  12. Enter Site Name = Dawson Gold Mine

  13. Enter Permitee/Operator Name = Zephyr Gold USA Ltd

  14. Select (click on) Comment or Objection = Objection 

  15. When finished entering data, press the "Submit" button
